The Business Health Index

A standardised measure of business viability.

Used by founders to understand their business.
Used by investors to evaluate opportunities.
Used by lenders to assess risk.
One number. Eight pillars. Benchmarked against the vertical.

Section 01

What it is

The Business Health Index is a 0–800 score that captures the structural viability of a business.

  • Eight pillars. Each scored 0–100. Total = 0–800.
  • Vertical-benchmarked. Your percentile is calculated against businesses in your vertical, not the broader market.
  • Tracked over time. Every weekly snapshot is preserved so trajectory is visible.
  • Auditable. Every pillar score traces back to a sub-metric and a data source.

Updated weekly. More connected data sources → higher accuracy. Installs running mostly on estimates are score-capped until they connect verified data.

Section 03

Who uses it

Founders

Understand the real shape of your business across all eight pillars — not just the headline revenue number.

Investors

Evaluate acquisition and investment targets with a single, standardised score that holds across verticals.

Lenders

Assess business viability for financing without manual underwriting — the BHI surface is auditable.

Advisors

Benchmark client businesses objectively against vertical peers and track trajectory across engagements.

Section 04

Get your score

Your Business Health Index is calculated automatically when you run your Business MRI. The score, the trajectory, and the breakdown live in your client portal.

Section 05

For investors and lenders

If you are evaluating a business that uses Edynamics, request their Business Health Index report. Each report is signed, timestamped, and traces back to the underlying pillar data.

Section 06

Notify me when the investor portal launches

The Business Health Index is in active development. The investor / lender portal — where third parties can browse anonymised BHI bands, request reports, and follow verticals — ships in stages. Be notified when each layer goes live.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How is the Business Health Index calculated?

The BHI converts your daily Business Survival Score (0–80) into the standardised 0–800 surface, then benchmarks each pillar against the vertical median. Data completeness adjusts the score so installs running mostly on estimates are capped, and installs with rich, connected data unlock the full 800-point range.

How often does my BHI update?

The score is computed weekly, every Monday at 09:30 UTC. Daily Business Survival Scores feed it in real time, so improvements show up the following Monday.

Can I share my BHI with investors or lenders?

Yes. If you are evaluating financing or an acquisition, your AM can issue a signed BHI report for any third party. Investors and lenders can also request a report directly through this page.

What if my business is in a vertical without enough peers?

Until your vertical has at least three Edynamics-tracked installs, your percentile defaults to the median. Benchmarks improve automatically as more businesses join the platform.
